I have a severe stereo-type against old white guys.
I also have an aversion to ignorant congressmen/women of any race loading the deck ro crucify a bureaucrat by attcking remarks with no regard to context. Glad to see my tax dollars supporting this jasackery.
With a cross examination like that, I find it laughable that you would refer to Artur Davis as "ignorant". I'm not sure what you mean by "no regard to context", it seemed pretty clear to me. Especially so with only five minutes to speak.
ignorant or just plain vindictive...your pick. listen to the actual remarks in the video and the questions. he has twisted what was actually said to suit his agenda. while it is certainly an assumption, one has to wonder if this deliberate twisting extends remarks not contained in the video. i guess the standard is that would you wan't your remarks on some subject held up to scrutiny by this man?
Debate has been around since crude plumbing. Davis shows a very calm, intuitive and decisive gift for debate. I think it is a sign of intelligence and self control to pick that A-hole apart. And if congressmen disagree strongly with one another they can't bring it into the cage....debate and talk is all these jackasses have. On those terms this is equivelent to having your face kicked...and maybe a kick in the kidneys once you are down.
